Role: Associate Director - Structural Engineering
Location: Halesowen
Salary Guide: £60,000 - £70,000 (Client is Open to Discussing Salary)

New opportunity of Associate Director of Structural Engineering is available in Birmingham. My Client is a well-established Civil, Structural and Architectural Consultancy who are recruiting at Associate Director level for their Structural Engineering Team in Birmingham. My Client has a distinguished track record of successful project delivery and takes pride in its strong client relationships, which have been cultivated through deep-rooted connections and exceptional service across the whole of the UK.

They are seeking a Structural Engineer with Associate Director ambition to join their team. This role offers excellent career prospects and is ideal for an individual currently at an Associate level or a Principal Structural Engineer ready to advance. The successful candidate will have a solid background in Structural Engineering, particularly in building design. As the role progresses, you will be provided with a unique opportunity to advance further with your own career and the opportunity to progress to Directorship yourself is available for the right person. Working alongside the current Director, you will be provided with an exciting opportunity to really get to grips with the business, their existing Clients, and in the day-to-day running of the business before advancing forward to the next stage of your career potentially as a Director yourself!

The role would be to support the existing Director in the day-to-day management of the Structures Department; team management and business management / project delivery. In collaboration with the Director and by shadowing them in their duties; you will take responsibility for the following key tasks:

  • Managing a team of Engineers and Technicians
  • Coordinating the delivery of projects
  • Meeting with Clients and maintaining / developing Client relations
  • Being willing to take a hands-on approach to design if required to support your team in the delivery of projects
  • Being involved in financial aspects of projects
  • Assisting in the growth of the department and in the development of new business relations

About You

  • Qualifications: Qualified in Civil / Structural Engineering ideally chartered with IStructE with a career in building design and engineering
  • Leadership: Proven ability to lead a team in project delivery.
  • Motivation: Inspire and motivate your team to reach their full potential.
  • Communication: Strong communication skills to clearly convey ideas and solutions to your fellow colleagues, design team members, and Clients
  • Business Acumen: Assist in maintaining the strong Client relations that my Client has had and continues to maintain whilst also actively being involved in new business development
