In-office during probation, three days per week in office thereafter.

I am working with a manufacturing and commerce client based in Exeter.

They are looking for a network security engineer to join their IT team.

Ideally, you will have some or all of the skills listed below. Training is provided for the right candidate, so if you have some or all of these skills and want to work with related technologies on business projects, this is a great opportunity to develop your career.

You will be involved in building and maintaining secure, efficient, and stable networks and systems. Your responsibilities will include ensuring networks and communications are optimized and functioning consistently, both internally and externally.

Responsibilities

1. Design and deploy company network services securely.
2. Monitor and administer installations, integrating network communications including routers, switches, firewalls, DMZ, servers, telephony, LAN/WAN.
3. Manage IP subnets, VLANs, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, VoIP traffic.
4. Protect network security.
5. Ensure failure protocols are in place.
6. Communicate with stakeholders.
7. Ensure balanced connectivity with failover plans.
8. Perform general activities such as administration, asset management, documentation, hardware builds and deployment, and technical support.
9. Train end users in safe use of IT infrastructure and update technical documentation.

Skills and Experience

1. MS Windows environment experience.
2. CCNA/CCNP accreditation.
3. Awareness of cyber threats and management strategies.
4. Cat6/fibre communication protocol skills.
5. Experience with routers, switches, firewalls, LAN/WAN, servers.
6. Active Directory / MS Entra: profiles, security groups, group policy, configuration.
7. Network security and preventative measures.
8. Management of web connectivity, email services, and security.
9. Failover protocol experience.
10. Asset management.

Desirable Experience

1. Dell switches with fibre.
2. Fortigate products.
3. SCCM / MECM.
4. ESXi and VMware.
5. Veeam, CrowdStrike, Cortex XDR configuration and administration.
