The hourly rate for this role is £13.32 and up to £15.05 across selected locations within London.

About the opportunity

As a Dispenser working within one of our stores, you will be a key member of our pharmacy team, supporting the pharmacist and other healthcare professionals to ensure the safe and efficient delivery of pharmacy and healthcare services.

In the healthcare department of the store, you will build relationships with patients by listening and understanding their needs. Your responsibilities include greeting customers, dispensing prescriptions, ensuring the safe sale of medicines, and providing advice to support patients' health and wellness decisions — making a difference every day.

Key responsibilities:

  1. Prescription dispensing while ensuring the safe supply of medicines, including ordering medicines, labelling, dispensing, endorsing, and collection of prescriptions.
  2. Collaborate with healthcare professionals in your store to manage and deliver pharmacy services.
  3. Provide care and advice to patients about medicines, referring queries to the Pharmacist as appropriate.
  4. Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) to support the safe and legal dispensing of prescriptions.
  5. Stay updated with new innovations and comply with operational processes.
  6. Support patients in managing their prescriptions and medicines effectively to promote adherence and reduce waste.

With evolving technologies, you'll have the opportunity to work with new systems that enhance dispensing processes, improve patient safety, and allow more time for patient interaction.

You will receive regular training to develop your healthcare knowledge and have career development options, including training as a Pharmacy Technician or within store leadership.

What you’ll need to have:

  • Completed the Pharmacy Advisor qualification NVQ2 (or equivalent).

It would be great if you also have:

  • Experience working in community pharmacy.
