THE ROLE
We’re looking for a highly organised, warm, and proactive People Experience Assistant to join the team at Ancient + Brave.
In this role, you’ll help create a seamless and positive day-to-day experience for our team by supporting our People function, maintaining a welcoming and efficient office environment, and assisting our Executive Assistant where required.
You will play a vital part in ensuring every team member, whether a new joiner or a long-standing colleague, feels supported and valued.
This role will be based in our Head Office (currently based in Uckfield, moving to Lewes in September). The hours for this role are Monday - Friday 8am - 4pm.
Key Responsibilities
Reporting to Executive Assistant you will be responsible for the following:
Office Management
- Overall responsibility for the smooth and efficient running of our Head Office.
- Act as the main point of contact for our London shared office space.
- Build and manage relationships with vendors and suppliers (e.g. cleaning services).
- Assist with office health & safety compliance and due diligence practices.
- Maintain a clean, well-stocked, and welcoming office environment.
- Responsible for ordering all office supplies (stationery, milk, cleaning suppliers, desks, monitors etc. )
- Ensure communal spaces are cared for by all team members (kitchens, meeting rooms, toilets and other shared areas).
- Support EA with office refurbishments or relocations.
Support to the Executive Assistant
- Provide diary management and other support to the CEO/Founder when the EA is unavailable.
- Assist with C-suite admin tasks and ensure smooth communication flow.
- Support the EA with arranging the Summer and Winter gatherings, including sourcing the venue, catering, entertainment and travel.
- Support on special projects and broader office initiatives led by the EA.
People Experience
- Act as the first point of contact for employee queries and help resolve day-to-day issues.
- Help identify and implement improvements to enhance the employee experience.
- Deliver a smooth onboarding process for new joiners, including desk setup, reference checks, and benefit enrolments.
- Assist with administrative tasks including spreadsheet management, reporting and document editing.
- Coordinate employee gifting, celebrations, and key moments (birthdays, milestones).
- Coordinate the All Hands meetings for Head Office and the Unit (including catering)
- Collaborate with the Wellbeing Committee to prioritise team welfare.
Systems & IT Support
- Serve as the liaison between team members and our external IT support providers.
- Maintain accurate office systems and ensure relevant information is kept up to date.
- Conduct research and compile reports or data upon request.
- Provide ad hoc administrative support across the business.
Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG)
- Working with our ESG Executive you will support the business in maintaining and enhancing its B-Corp accreditation.
- Proactively suggest improvements to our environmental and social impact practices.

We’ve worked hard to make our office (a beautiful old mill situated in East Sussex) an inviting and friendly environment for all of our team members and we expect any new joiner to be in the office full time.
