Working for a world-renowned aerospace and defence manufacturer, the role is primarily responsible for managing strategic Aluminium (Extrusions) suppliers. The position is based at their facility in Filton, Bristol.

You will be accountable for delivering Multiple Function Team (MFT) projects on Time, Cost, and Quality, and for ensuring end-to-end management of the Aluminium ConBid Process (which controls demand and production of aluminium across the supply chain).

Prior buying experience and technical knowledge of aluminium/Metals supply are ESSENTIAL.

Main activities include:

1. Managing projects within the MFT framework, including planning, reporting to CSG leader/manager, and maintaining financial adherence.
2. Developing and maintaining key supplier and internal stakeholder relationships.
3. Negotiating contract terms and conditions.
4. Ensuring contract change management, supported by the contract manager.
5. Leading supplier contractual review meetings.
6. Supporting and contributing to supplier development initiatives based on current and future performance.
7. Defining development targets such as cost reduction, quality, and delivery performance.
8. Supporting the deployment of the commodity strategy, including market intelligence, aligned with our commercial and procurement policies.
9. Contributing to company cost improvement programs by identifying opportunities, establishing roadmaps, coordinating activities, and negotiating commercial agreements.
10. Supervising and supporting Transfer of Work (ToW) activities for markets and suppliers.
11. Coordinating the availability of commercial and contractual elements to enable procurement.
12. Managing risks related to suppliers, including financial, strategic, and monopolistic risks, and defining mitigation actions.
13. Leading Calls for Tenders to meet business needs, proposing supplier selections, and coordinating selection reports.
14. Leading MFT during supplier selection processes through tender management.
15. Participating in regular supplier reviews and assessments.
16. Ensuring consistency between contract terms and conditions and the SAP information system.
17. Within the PMM enabling policy, ensuring key subcontractors can procure against our contract terms via the Enablement process.
18. Managing the end-to-end process of Aluminium ConBid, including demand monitoring, demand allocation optimization, change request analysis, and contractual breach mitigation.

Skills and Experience required:

1. Prior Buyer or supply chain experience is ESSENTIAL.
2. Technical knowledge of aluminium/metals supply.
3. Experience working with international suppliers.
4. Proficiency with SAP.
5. Ability to operate in complex stakeholder environments.
6. Contract management expertise.

The jobholder will be responsible for delivering outputs such as:

• Supplier selection through tender processes.
• Project reviews and minutes of meetings.
• Contract negotiations, validation forms, and commercial agreements.
• Contract reviews and senior management reviews with key suppliers.
