Product Designer

Location: UK (Remote)
Length: 2 months
Rate: £42.79 – £47.60 p/h (Inside IR35)
Hours: 9am-6pm

About the team
Our mission is to spark conversations that bring people closer together. Messaging builds and grows our relationships with friends and family and helps us connect over shared interests. Messenger supports messaging products across our clients' platforms, powering the tools that help people connect such as private messaging, Community Chats, and Broadcast Channels.

Role Overview
We are looking for a designer to work across our Large Screens and Trust teams, focusing on privacy, accessibility, and other core web and desktop projects for Messenger. You’ll have the opportunity to build expertise in privacy and accessibility and partner with other Messenger teams to deliver high-quality, high-impact experiences for billions of users.

Typical day to day:

  1. During the week, weekly XFN sync on projects they will be supporting.
  2. Weekly crisis – designers will show work and give feedback.
  3. Weekly set of priorities for designers to execute and approval review process that the PM will drive.
  4. Working with engineers on implementation once things are approved.
  5. X3/4 tracks of work to work on, backlog of design work for the team to work on and document, also a few execution projects of translation from mobile work to large screen – web and desktop.
  6. Accessibility work – compliance projects.
  7. Execution work primarily.

Ideal Candidate:

  1. Experienced working on web/desktop and accessibility.
  2. Familiar with working within existing design systems.
  3. Detail-oriented and loves focusing on visual and interaction details.
  4. A strong systems thinker and clear communicator who can bring clarity to complex problem spaces.
  5. Proactive communicator and collaborator.
  6. 8-10 years’ experience.
  7. Large screen experience.
