Job summary

Southend University Hospital NHS Trust is seeking a Band 3 Health Care Assistant for our busy Emergency Department. You will work with nursing and medical staff to support patient flow and help deliver safe, compassionate care in a dynamic clinic environment.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting patients in busy clinical settings.
• Ability to follow direct instructions and work in a team.
• Good listening and communication skills; well organised.

Responsibilities

• Undertaking observations, ECG's and urine samples
• Transferring patients to other clinical areas
• Application of plaster casts
• Undertaking wound closure
• Supporting patients requiring x-ray or transfers between the Emergency Department
• Talking to patients and their families
• Monitoring patient conditions and escalating concerns
