Are you an enthusiastic Early Career Teacher (ECT) of Design & Technology ready to inspire and innovate in the classroom?

GSL Education are delighted to be working with a high-achieving secondary school in Redbridge that is seeking an ECT Design & Technology Teacher to join their supportive team from September 2025 on a long-term basis.

About the Role

As an ECT DT Teacher, you will deliver engaging lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with opportunities to contribute to Key Stage 5 if desired. You will have access to excellent resources and join a dedicated and forward-thinking department passionate about creativity, innovation, and practical learning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver exciting, student-focused DT lessons in line with the national curriculum.
  • Contribute to the development of schemes of work and resources.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback.
  • Create a positive and inclusive learning environment for all pupils.
  • Participate in school events, enrichment activities, and continued professional development.

Job Requirements:

  • A qualified teacher status (QTS) specialisation in Design & Technology or a related field.
  • Proven experience teaching Design Technology in a school setting.
  • Strong subject knowledge in Product Design, Textiles, Resistant Materials, Graphics etc.
  • A passion for practical learning, with the ability to inspire and engage students of all abilities.
  • Excellent classroom management skills and a commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students.
  • Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
