Job description

Purpose of the role

To collaborate, nurture, and drive group innovation with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the bank stays at the forefront of innovation and adapts to the rapidly changing landscape in financial services and increasing customer expectations.

Accountabilities

  • Collaborate with a range of stakeholders to develop a portfolio of open innovation and strategic initiatives through experimentation, co-creation, access to innovative technology capabilities, products, and services, and a global innovation ecosystem.
  • Develop and deliver frameworks, ideation, training, and tools to build a culture of innovation and knowledge sharing, enabling new and creative ideas/solutions that align with the bank’s strategy.
  • Provide a global platform and curated ecosystem of partners to inform strategy, drive connectivity, and generate new insights.
  • Develop strategic capabilities and programs for the bank to explore, evaluate, and execute innovation and investment opportunities.
  • Manage and coordinate external stakeholders/partners and the bank to successfully deliver joint projects and initiatives.
  • Deliver thought leadership and insights to inform strategic decision-making and organizational readiness, including research on emerging technologies and trends.
  • Develop and manage key metrics, including partnerships, innovation initiatives, and impact assessments to evaluate ROI and identify risks and issues.

Vice President Expectations

  • Contribute to or set strategy, drive requirements, and recommend changes. Plan resources, budgets, policies; manage and maintain policies/processes; and ensure continuous improvement.
  • For those managing teams, define roles and responsibilities, plan for future needs, counsel on performance, and contribute to pay decisions. Lead specialists to influence department operations, balancing strategic and tactical goals while adhering to budgets and schedules.
  • Demonstrate leadership behaviors to foster an environment where colleagues can thrive, following the LEAD principles: Listen and be authentic, Energize and inspire, Align across the enterprise, Develop others.
  • For individual contributors, serve as subject matter experts, guide technical direction, lead multi-year assignments, and mentor less experienced team members. Provide strategic advice to stakeholders and manage risks in line with governance.

  • Understand organizational functions to contribute to business goals.
  • Collaborate across areas to stay aligned with business strategies.
