Job Description:

An Independent school in Haringey is seeking a knowledgeable and enthusiastic Economics Teacher for a permanent, full-time position commencing in September. The successful Economics Teacher will inspire students across Key Stages 4 and 5 with the principles of economics and the workings of the economy.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver engaging Economics lessons to students in Key Stages 4 and 5.
  • Prepare students effectively for Economics examinations, ensuring a solid grasp of key concepts and theories.
  • Foster a stimulating learning environment that encourages critical thinking about economic issues.
  • Assess and monitor student progress in economics, providing insightful and constructive feedback.
  • Contribute to the development of the economics curriculum and relevant teaching materials.
  • Encourage interest in finance and the global economy.

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent with a specialization in Economics.
  • Experience teaching Economics at secondary level, including Key Stage 5.
  • Strong academic background in economics and passion for the subject.
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills, capable of leading engaging discussions.
  • Ability to motivate students to think critically and independently about economic principles.
  • Commitment to teamwork and a supportive approach to colleagues and students.
  • Inner London Payscale.
