A high-performing secondary school in the heart of Islington is seeking a dedicated and insightful Economics Teacher to join their permanent faculty from September 2025. The successful candidate will be someone who can bring the subject to life, linking theory with current global affairs and economic trends, while preparing students for academic excellence and real-world application.
Design and deliver engaging, curriculum-aligned Economics lessons across KS4 and KS5.
Incorporate real-time financial news, debates, and data analysis to develop critical thinking and commercial awareness.
Support students in understanding micro and macroeconomic principles with relevance and clarity.
Use assessment-driven planning to adapt learning to individual needs and promote academic growth.
Foster a classroom culture of curiosity, dialogue, and independent thought.
Collaborate with other subject leads to enrich cross-curricular learning and raise standards across the department.
QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or equivalent certification.
A degree in Economics or a closely related subject.
Experience delivering Economics at GCSE and A-Level (AQA/Edexcel or equivalent).
Strong classroom management, communication, and differentiation skills.
A growth mindset and commitment to student success, innovation, and reflective teaching practice.
