Job Description

The eCommerce Brands team is seeking an eCommerce Trading Manager to lead our UK growth, focusing on Sports brands on NEXT UK. Based at Head Office in Leicestershire, this role offers a competitive salary and great benefits.

At NEXT, we are one of the UK’s largest fashion retailers and a FTSE-100 company. We sell our products and thousands of brands both in-store and online, UK and internationally. We are experiencing rapid growth and continual investment.

The UK Trading team drives growth by optimizing online product sales on Next.co.uk across Womenswear, Menswear, Childrenswear, and Home. They manage product launches and promotions to maximize sales and visibility.

The role

As a Trading Manager within the Brands team, you will support the Business Manager as the main contact for a dedicated product area, such as Sports. You will own your division’s trading performance across NEXT’s UK website and third-party platforms, developing strategies, marketing, and collaborating across teams. Your commercial and product expertise will help identify opportunities, influence strategy, and grow sales, effectively managing the brand as a business within a business.

Responsibilities include:
  • Collaborate with the Business Manager to set and drive the strategy for Sports on NEXT UK, including managing team members to achieve growth.
  • Take ownership of trading Sports brands on the NEXT UK website, becoming an expert in product trends and translating this knowledge into the customer journey to boost sales.
  • Use data-driven insights to optimize marketing, search, navigation, and product pages, analyzing key metrics, user behavior, and customer insights for growth opportunities.
  • Present weekly sales performance and insights to stakeholders to maximize sales potential.
  • Represent the Sports category within the ecommerce team, advocating for innovation and growth ideas.
  • Implement testing and data-driven approaches to refine the customer experience.
  • Provide regular performance updates through monthly meetings.
  • Work closely with stakeholders across Product, Marketing, Data, and Content to craft compelling storytelling for Sports brands.
  • Plan and execute the end-to-end marketing strategy for Sports, aligning with customer demand.

All activities are based at our Leicestershire Head Office, with flexible working arrangements (3 days in-office, 2 from home). We encourage you to bring energy, play to your strengths, and aim for continuous improvement.

Ideal candidates will have experience in eCommerce trading, specifically with Sports brands, be highly analytical, comfortable with large data volumes, possess strong communication skills, and have a forward-thinking attitude willing to challenge the status quo.

Benefits include:
  • Salary: £42,000 - £54,000
  • Flexible working options
  • Performance-based bonus
  • Sharesave scheme
  • Annual Pay Reward
  • Pension scheme (3% employer, 5% employee)
  • 25 days holiday plus bank holidays (option to buy/sell up to 3 days)
  • 25% staff discount, free next-day delivery
  • Refurbished subsidised restaurant and bar
  • Staff shops in Yorkshire and Leicestershire
  • Juice bar and coffee shop
  • Gympass discounted gym memberships
  • Free company bus service
  • Onsite nursery (salary sacrifice scheme)
  • Digital GP healthcare service
  • And more...
