Ecommerce Managing Director

Industry:
Ecommerce / Retail / Consumer Goods.

Worcestershire (Hybrid 2 to 3 days remote per week), Monday to Friday 8:30am to 5pm.

Up to £110,000 annual salary + Bonus, Company Car (or allowance), Health Insurance, Healthcare Cash Back.
Are you a seasoned ecommerce leader ready to step into a high-impact, strategic role? A leading UK-based business is seeking a dynamic Ecommerce Managing Director to drive digital growth, lead cross-functional teams, and spearhead innovation across a portfolio of ecommerce and marketplace platforms.

This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious individual with senior leadership experience in ecommerce and digital marketing. While prior Managing Director experience is not essential, a track record of driving commercial success and leading teams at a senior level is a must.

Responsibilities:

  • Define and lead the digital commerce strategy to accelerate growth and expand market presence.
  • Set ambitious revenue targets and identify new online sales channels and market opportunities.
  • Oversee multi-platform ecommerce operations, ensuring optimal performance across branded websites and online marketplaces.
  • Manage product listings, pricing strategies, stock levels, and promotional activity to maximise sales and operational efficiency.
  • Direct digital marketing initiatives including SEO, PPC, social media, email, and retargeting campaigns to drive traffic and conversion.
  • Utilise data and analytics to make informed decisions, forecast demand, and drive impactful promotions.
  • Lead and inspire teams across marketing, operations, tech, and customer service, fostering a collaborative, high-performance culture.
  • Ensure a seamless customer experience across all touchpoints, including logistics and aftersales support.
  • Oversee ecommerce financials and vendor relationships, ensuring profitability through strategic budgeting and ROI tracking.
  • Contribute to the ongoing adoption and integration of AI and other digital innovations within the business.

Requirements:

  • Proven senior leadership experience in ecommerce, ideally overseeing multiple websites and marketplace operations.
  • Deep understanding of platforms such as Shopify, Magento, and third-party marketplaces.
  • Strong knowledge of digital marketing strategies and customer acquisition tactics.
  • Analytical mindset with a data-driven approach to performance, forecasting, and decision-making.
  • Experience managing cross-functional teams across marketing, technical, and operational areas.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Degree in Business, Marketing, Ecommerce, or a related field.
  • Ability to manage complex projects, budgets, and strategic priorities in a fast-paced environment.
