Job Description:

  • Salary: £30K - £60k (depending on role and experience)
  • Various locations: Manchester, West Midlands and East Midlands/ South Yorkshire

We are looking for ecologists with over 4 years' professional experience to join our CIEEM Registered Practice ecology team and help deliver our wide variety of projects.

The role: We are looking for experienced ecologists with over 4 years of relevant experience, who are looking for the next step in their career and who are keen to develop their skills and progress their career as an ecological consultant. You will become a valued member of our ecology team and have the opportunity to work on a wide range of ecology projects including protected species surveys, desk studies, Preliminary Ecological Appraisals, and Biodiversity Net Gain assessments.

Our projects include: nationally significant infrastructure projects, residential developments, habitat banks, flood alleviation schemes, public sector support, and R&D and long-term vegetation monitoring projects. You will have the opportunity to improve your experience in producing fee proposals, project management, team or technical leadership, survey planning and delivery, and report writing.

We are looking for people that have the following attributes:

  • A confident self-starter with a passion for ecological consultancy
  • Critical thinker and problem solver
  • Willingness to travel and work away from home
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent knowledge of UK wildlife legislation
  • Have a full UK driving licence
  • CIEEM membership
  • Ideally FISC Level 3 or equivalent
  • 4+ years experience
