As a Senior Ecologist, you will collaborate with teams from different disciplines, such as planning, engineering, and design, supported by an Ecology Team that will assist you. You will support our existing partnerships with water utilities, pursue new opportunities, and help expand our client base.

You will manage complex ecological issues within projects, including conducting ecological surveys and assessments, designing and implementing mitigation and enhancement measures, and obtaining protected species licences. You will also mentor junior staff to develop their ecological skills and knowledge. The role offers autonomy, professional growth, and opportunities for training and networking.

About You

Your skills should include conducting assessments such as PEAs, ECIAs, ecological chapters, and contributing to HRAs. Familiarity with UKHab classification and the Defra Metric is essential.

You will have a protected species survey license for at least one species (e.g., great crested newt, bats) and experience with protected species licensing. Project, budget, and client relationship management skills are also necessary.

Strong communication, teamwork, and leadership abilities are essential. We welcome applications from those ready to handle complex ecological projects and make a significant impact.
