Job description

Ecologist (Hybrid/Home Working) needed inBelfast

Contract Type:3-month initial contract (potential for extension)
Rate:Up to £45/hr
Hours:40 hours/week (flexible working considered)
Location:Belfast-based (1 day/week in office site visits as required)
Start Date:Immediate

We are looking for a skilledEcologistto support the Department for Infrastructure (DfI) in Northern Ireland with ecological surveys for highways and rail projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and conduct ecological surveys
  • Ensure compliance with UK and NI wildlife legislation
  • Review and produce ecological reports
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
  • Make informed, independent decisions in both field and office settings

Requirements:

  • 3–4 years of relevant ecological experience
