Job summary

Assured Safety Recruitment is partnering with a leading organisation to recruit an Ecologist to join its HSQE team. The role offers exposure to civil engineering, construction and infrastructure projects across the UK, with travel to sites and a supportive environment for career development.

The ideal candidate will have a degree in Ecology, relevant field experience, and a good grasp of UK environmental legislation, plus strong communication and organisational skills.

Qualifications

• A degree in Ecology or a related Environmental discipline.
• Experience within ecology, ideally supporting construction, infrastructure or civil engineering projects.
• Sound understanding of UK environmental legislation.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to work across multiple projects and build positive relationships with site teams.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel, including occasional overnight stays.

Responsibilities

• Undertaking pre-construction ecological surveys, including protected species and INNS.
• Carrying out bird nesting surveys and ecological site inspections.
• Supporting the preparation of Environmental Management Plans.
• Visiting live construction sites to undertake environmental audits and inspections.
• Assisting with waste sampling, classification and environmental monitoring.
• Delivering toolbox talks and environmental awareness training.
• Carrying out desk studies to identify sensitive ecological and designated sites.
• Monitoring water quality and environmental controls during construction activities.

This is an excellent opportunity for an Ecologist looking to broaden their experience across civil engineering, construction, infrastructure and maintenance projects. The Role

As an Ecologist, you'll support a variety of ecological and environmental activities across multiple projects, including:

• Supporting the preparation of Environmental Management Plans.

About You
