Ecologist - Warrington

An environmental consultancy are looking for an Ecologist to join its growing team. The company, known for delivering high-quality ecological services across a diverse range of projects, is expanding due to increased demand for its expertise. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering ecological surveys, assessments, and reports to support planning applications and development projects. Working alongside a multidisciplinary team of specialists, the ecologist will contribute to a variety of projects-from habitat assessments to protected species work-while helping clients meet regulatory and sustainability goals. The option to work from home is also available.

Key Responsibilities;

  • Conducting habitat and protected species surveys (e.g. bats, GCN, badger, birds)

  • Preparing Preliminary Ecological Appraisals (PEAs), Ecological Impact Assessments (EcIAs), and Biodiversity Net Gain assessments

  • Supporting mitigation design and implementation

  • Liaising with clients, planners, and statutory bodies

  • Assisting with data analysis, mapping, and reporting

Ideal Candidate Will Have;

  • A degree in ecology or related discipline

  • Experience in consultancy or applied ecological work

  • Survey licenses (e.g. for bats or GCN) or progress toward them

  • Strong knowledge of UK wildlife legislation and planning policy

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel
