An environmental consultancy are looking for an Ecologist to join its growing team. The company, known for delivering high-quality ecological services across a diverse range of projects, is expanding due to increased demand for its expertise. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering ecological surveys, assessments, and reports to support planning applications and development projects. Working alongside a multidisciplinary team of specialists, the ecologist will contribute to a variety of projects-from habitat assessments to protected species work-while helping clients meet regulatory and sustainability goals. The option to work from home is also available.

Key Responsibilities;
Conducting habitat and protected species surveys (e.g. bats, GCN, badger, birds)
Preparing Preliminary Ecological Appraisals (PEAs), Ecological Impact Assessments (EcIAs), and Biodiversity Net Gain assessments
Supporting mitigation design and implementation
Liaising with clients, planners, and statutory bodies
Assisting with data analysis, mapping, and reporting
Ideal Candidate Will Have;
A degree in ecology or related discipline
Experience in consultancy or applied ecological work
Survey licenses (e.g. for bats or GCN) or progress toward them
Strong knowledge of UK wildlife legislation and planning policy
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel
