Role: Ecologist
Location:Salisbury (Full time on-site)
Contract Length: 3 months
Rate: £527/day (Umbrella)
Security Clearance: BPSS required; SC preferred (Sole UK nationals only)
IR35 Status: In Scope
Interview Format: Face-to-face or MS Teams

We are seeking an experienced Ecologist to lead the ecological management of a nationally significant estate. The role focuses on maintaining compliance with environmental legislation, managing protected habitats (SSSI, SAC, SPA), and delivering key objectives under the Stone Curlew Conservation Project.

You'll work closely with internal teams and external agencies, ensuring ecological responsibilities are met without compromising core operational activities. Key tasks include land and habitat management, stakeholder engagement, compliance reporting, ecological data maintenance, and supporting environmental assessments.

Essential:

  • Degree in Ecology or equivalent

  • Experience managing SSSI, SPA, and SAC sites

  • Strong understanding of relevant environmental legislation

  • Practical knowledge of conservation and land management

  • Stakeholder engagement and project delivery skills

Desirable:

  • City & Guilds in Agricultural/Forestry/Land Management

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
