Qualifications

  • Must hold relevant licenses for surveys.

Job description

NES Fircroft are partnered with an industry leading Power Cabling client actively sourcing for an Ecologist to join an established team on their high profile interconnector project. The Ecologist role will be hybrid between 2 sites and home, supervising and monitoring construction activities to ensure compliance with project plans and ecological good practice.


This role will be inside IR35 (Umbrella / PAYE only). Initial 12 month contract.


Candidate Requirements
  1. Degree / diploma or equivalent in Environment and / or Ecology
  2. Badger licencing and surveys
  3. Bat licence and surveys
  4. Reptile surveys
  5. GCN surveys
  6. Habitat and landscaping scheme experience
  7. BNG experience preferable
  8. Hold a valid CSCS or CCNSG Card or ability to obtain one to get onto site
  9. At least 5 years' experience as an ECoW / Ecologist
  10. Hold membership with the Association of ECOW's as an associate member or better (desirable)
  11. Have active Continual Professional Development as an ECoW / Ecologist
  12. Previously held ECoW positions on large infrastructure projects
  13. Fully conversant in Scottish law, legislation and consenting
  14. Competent in ensuring compliance with Environmental Plans and Procedures at a site level
  15. Must be client facing and feel comfortable monitoring tier contractors
  16. Must be proactive, self-motivated and work well in a team
  17. Competent in the English language and Microsoft Office
