We are looking for a dynamic, adaptable, and driven Ecologist to join our team and deliver a wide range of ecological services. This role offers the chance to provide expert ecological support to prestigious clients across commercial, public, private, and governmental sectors.

The company is well established and respected within the industry, operating in various sectors and providing survey consultancy services to some of the largest blue-chip organisations in the UK.

Our office is based in South Yorkshire, but the role will require national travel.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Work alongside a diverse multi-disciplinary project team offering planning and feasibility solutions for existing clients.
2. Lead and deliver high-quality ecological advice, assessments, surveys, mitigation strategies, and collaborate with clients and planners.
3. Contribute to the growth of the ecological service by identifying new opportunities, building client relationships, and expanding project portfolios.
4. Coordinate the team to ensure planning and feasibility reports are aligned and effectively issued.

Skills & Experience:

1. At least 5 years’ experience in ecological consultancy, with a focus on surveys, assessments, ecological reports, and project management.
2. Strong organisational skills.
3. Proficiency in Microsoft Office packages.
4. Knowledge of UK ecology legislation, guidelines, and best practices.
5. Understanding of planning and feasibility processes is advantageous.
6. Strong communication skills for effective stakeholder collaboration.
7. Experience advising clients on Biodiversity Net Gain, using the DEFRA Statutory Biodiversity Metric, and producing related reports.
8. Membership or eligibility for membership of a relevant professional body (e.g., CIEEM).
9. Additional specialisms and qualifications are a plus.
10. A full UK driving licence is essential.
