As PJA continues to grow and expand, we are looking for an enthusiastic Senior Ecologist to support our Nature Technical Director in a variety of exciting projects.

PJA is a leading team of transport, engineering, nature, and placemaking specialists with offices in Birmingham, Bristol, Cambridge, London, Manchester, Reading, Perth, and Melbourne.

We provide expert advice on a wide range of projects across the UK and beyond, including new settlements, nationally strategic infrastructure, urban regeneration, and education, employment, sports, and leisure developments.

We are now looking for a Nature Consultant (Ecologist grade) to join our growing team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a strong background in Ecology and biodiversity net gain, along with excellent organizational skills, to advance their career within our successful organization.

Job Description
  • Experience with the Statutory biodiversity metric.
  • Report drafting and reviewing.
  • Leading protected species surveys.
  • Managing small-scale projects.
  • Supporting larger-scale projects.
  • Managing the Nature Services technical library.
  • Supporting innovation and research.
  • Liaising with clients, statutory bodies, and local planning authorities.
Qualifications
  • Relevant degree in Ecology or environmental sciences.
  • Master’s degree (desirable).
  • Associate Membership (or working towards this).
  • Protected species survey licenses (desirable).
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience.
Additional Requirements
  • Driver’s License.
  • Commitment to high health and safety standards during fieldwork and in the office.
