Job description

Ecologist - Highways & Rail
Location: Belfast, Northern Ireland
Contract: 3-month initial (potential extension)
Rate: Up to £45/hr
Hours: 40 hours/week (flexible working considered)

We are recruiting an experienced Ecologist to support the Department for Infrastructure (DfI) in Northern Ireland with ecological surveys for highways and rail projects. This role involves both field surveys and report preparation, working closely with multi-disciplinary teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and conduct ecological surveys across highways and rail schemes.
  • Ensure compliance with UK and NI wildlife legislation.
  • Produce and review ecological reports.
  • Collaborate effectively with project teams.
  • Make independent decisions on site and in the office.

Requirements:
