About the role

Experimental Cancer Medicine Centre (ECMC) researchers are world-leading scientists and clinicians who drive the discovery, development, and testing of new treatments to combat cancer. The funding supports over 200 staff country-wide involved in early phase trials and translational research.

We are looking for a Translational Research Technician to join us and play an integral role in the delivery of projects that are part of the ECMC portfolio.

The role involves supporting all aspects of tissue collection activities for various projects supported by the ECMC, and being responsible for post-collection processing of tissue in the laboratory to good clinical laboratory practice (GCLP) standards.

You will also provide support for the operation and maintenance of GCLP labs, including equipment monitoring and ordering, and provide support and training for staff and students involved in handling human tissues.

About you

To be successful, you will be well-organized with the ability to plan effectively to ensure timely collection and processing of samples in line with GCLP standards.

You will also have great attention to detail and be flexible, understanding that sample collection may be canceled or postponed due to the nature of the role.

Experience working with human tissues and a working knowledge of regulatory requirements would be highly beneficial.
