This position is every Friday-Sunday, 7:00am-5:30pm, 30 Hours/Week.

Primary Function:

Perform daily clinical operations of the Echocardiography Lab, including performing Transthoracic and Transesophageal Echocardiograms, Contrast Studies using Definity, Bubble Studies, Stress Echocardiograms, and Chemical Stress Echocardiograms. This includes preliminary interpretation of studies, assessing ventricular performance, and assisting during transesophageal procedures. The sonographer will utilize 2D, M-Mode, and Doppler techniques to evaluate and record pertinent anatomical, pathological, and functional data, aiding in diagnosis and treatment. Responsibilities include patient assessment, procedure planning, setup, and ensuring high-quality images.

Responsibilities:

• Explain procedures and answer patient questions to ensure comfort.
• Perform routine and emergency echocardiograms independently, recognizing abnormalities, and notifying cardiologists as needed.
• Administer contrast agent Definity after passing competency training, and report any adverse reactions.
• Download, prepare, and document echocardiograms for review and billing.
• Participate in quality improvement activities, conferences, and maintain accreditation standards.
• Foster a collaborative work environment.
• Maintain inventory of supplies to ensure continuous service.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications and Specifications:

Training from a Cardio-Vascular program required. Minimum of three years practical experience or equivalent preferred. RDMS or RCS certification required.
