Job description

Female Personal Assistant for Spinal Injured Guy
18-hrs pw (ONS) £11.74 + - WAKEFIELD - WF2

Person specification
I am looking for someone reliable, energetic, outgoing with a good sense of humour to join my friendly team of PA’s supporting me living independently.

Some experience of providing care is preferred, but not essential. If you have good work ethics and are committed to providing the best care possible with a genuine interest in doing so, I would really like to hear from you.

The role of PA involves assistance with all aspects of daily life, including personal care and domestic tasks, as well as activities such as daily keep fit, wheelchair rugby, cycling, swimming, art projects, gardening, woodwork and craft projects, socialising, the occasional night out, and trips away.

Regardless of experience, you must be willing to learn how to do the job under my direction and follow advice from experienced PA’s. As you progress, you will be expected to work using your own initiative. Full job description available upon request.
About me
I have a C5/6 spinal cord injury (broken neck): complete paralysis below the shoulders and partial paralysis of both arms, no hand or finger dexterity and wheelchair bound. Consequently, I need assistance with all aspects of personal care as well as domestic chores.

I am an active person who enjoys life with a smattering of humour and strive for independence in all that I do, regardless of paralysis. I have three lovely Personal Assistants providing one-to-one support, and I am now looking for someone new to join my small friendly team.

Training
During an induction/shadow shift, you will be guided through tasks listed in the job description.
Times Required
A typical shift starts at 18:00pm - 11:00am finishing the following day [£199.58].

You will be expected to cover holiday leave and absence equally. **Additional cover required for annual leave between June & August.

New starter for this vacancy: 1 shift per week plus additional training.
I look forward to hearing from you
