Are you passionate about supporting others? Do you enjoy planning events, bringing people together, and making a real impact in your community?

Blaenau Gwent Adult’s Services is looking for an enthusiastic and proactive Unpaid Carers Activities and Engagement Co-ordinator to join our team. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in developing and delivering a programme of activities and engagement events for unpaid carers. Unpaid carers make an incredible contribution to our community, and this role is all about ensuring they feel supported, valued, and connected. If you’re someone who thrives on creating meaningful experiences, building relationships, and raising awareness, this could be the perfect role for you.

About the role

As the Activities and Engagement Co-ordinator, you will be at the heart of our efforts to connect with unpaid carers across Blaenau Gwent. You will lead on developing and delivering a varied programme of events and activities designed to provide support, recognition, and a sense of community. From organising engagement sessions and awareness campaigns to planning fun and inclusive activities, you will ensure unpaid carers have access to opportunities that enhance their wellbeing.

In this role, you will also be responsible for promoting events and initiatives, using both traditional and digital communication methods to reach as many carers as possible. You’ll play a key role in managing our social media presence, updating websites, and working with local partners to share important information. Additionally, you’ll collect and analyse data to understand the needs of unpaid carers, helping to shape future engagement and support strategies. This is an exciting, varied, and hands-on role where your creativity and passion for making a difference will shine.

About you

We are looking for someone who is passionate about supporting unpaid carers and understands the importance of community engagement. You should be an excellent communicator, comfortable engaging with people from all walks of life, and confident in delivering events and activities. A background in event planning, community work, marketing, or social care would be beneficial, but above all, we need someone who is enthusiastic, organised, and proactive.

You’ll need to be comfortable using social media and digital platforms to promote events and share information, as well as having the ability to analyse data to improve engagement strategies. This role requires someone who can work independently while also being a strong team player, willing to collaborate with colleagues, stakeholders, and local partners. If you’re someone who loves bringing people together, creating meaningful experiences, and making a positive impact, this role is for you.
