Job description

This is a great opportunity to join our Sellafield leadership team as Framework Director. You will work for the Operations Director within Sir Robert McAlpine's Nuclear business and will be responsible for leading and growing a long–term framework with our target client, Sellafield Ltd.

This will include leading efforts to ensure effective mobilisation of new framework contracts and implementation of smooth transition arrangements.

You will establish strategic partnerships with Sellafield Ltd to create long–term sustainable revenues and profitable growth.

Why join us?

Since 1869, we've worked on building and civil engineering projects that have set industry standards, including the Eden Project, Olympic Stadium, and the award-winning Bloomberg building.

As we celebrate our 154th anniversary, we look forward to future projects and opportunities. Our family–owned business offers a fulfilling career where you can proudly help build Britain's future heritage.

The Framework Director role

You will have full ownership, responsibility, and accountability for developing and delivering all work packages within the Framework, with a focus on civil and construction engineering. Your role involves ensuring resources are available and deployed for Early Contractor Involvement (ECI), collaborating with clients, partners, internal specialists, and supply chain to develop scheme designs considering buildability, cost, and schedule.

You will oversee the delivery of works packages on the Sellafield Nuclear Licensed site, aligning with our Build Sure philosophy and fostering a culture of continuous improvement to enhance operational performance and efficiencies.

A key aspect of your role will be to develop and expand our self–delivery capacity within the Framework to support future works on the Sellafield site.

Your profile
  • You will demonstrate leadership and management styles aligned with our company values, setting high standards for your team and supply chain partners.
  • You will implement effective client account development strategies, establishing long-term relationships with Sellafield and fostering profitable growth.
  • You will have experience delivering a portfolio of projects ranging from GBP10k to GBP50m+.
  • You will be a skilled collaborator and communicator, able to build effective relationships internally and externally.
  • Experience or knowledge of delivering infrastructure projects within a nuclear licensed or highly regulated site, especially dealing with Sensitive Nuclear Information (SNI) or similar secure infrastructure, would be advantageous.
  • You must hold the APM PMQ qualification or be a Chartered Project Professional.
  • You should be degree qualified and a member of a construction-related Professional Body.
Rewards

We are committed to investing in your future, offering wide-ranging, performance-related progression opportunities. Our competitive rewards package includes flexible benefits tailored to your lifestyle and priorities.

We invite you to join us in proudly building Britain's future heritage. Apply online now.

Sir Robert McAlpine values diversity and is an inclusive employer. Even if you don't meet every requirement, we encourage you to apply, especially if you're part of an underrepresented group in construction. Our goal is to reflect societal diversity in our workforce. As a family-run business with strong values, we aim to create a supportive, empowering, and inclusive environment for all team members.
