The Manager of Pre-Sales Engineering

Leads a team of pre-sales engineers serving as the nexus between sales, solutions consulting, and product management. This role is at the heart of PROS' go-to-market (GTM) strategy, responsible for designing, configuring, executing, and maintaining impactful GTM demos, commercial best practices, and sales effectiveness tools to inspire prospects and customers, positioning PROS as the leading technology and partner in the market.

A Day in the Life of the Manager Pre-Sales Engineering - About the role:
  1. Collaborate with sales, solutions consulting, and product teams to create and execute compelling technical solutions that demonstrate real value.
  2. Manage projects by providing direction on scoping, ensuring process compliance, and mitigating risks.
  3. Lead and manage strategic initiatives and special projects.
  4. Assist in resource allocation and reporting on utilization.
  5. Maintain the production integrity of demo systems.
  6. Build and cultivate relationships with other teams at PROS.
  7. Identify knowledge gaps within the team and facilitate training.
  8. Conduct regular 1-on-1 meetings with direct reports, providing coaching and career development.
  9. Assist with recruiting, onboarding, and managing resources.
  10. Advise sales and solutions consulting teams on winning solution strategies and demo use cases to address specific business problems.
Skills and Qualifications - About you:

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • 5-8 years of experience preferred; minimum 2 years in one or more of the following: pre-sales consulting/engineering leadership in enterprise software, configuration/implementation in complex software environments.
  • Proactive learner.
  • Successful experience in complex sales environments.
  • Ability to excel individually and in team initiatives.
  • Track record of managing teams that meet or exceed goals.
  • Bachelor’s degree in technical, engineering, or business disciplines.
Strongly Desired Skills and Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of PROS solutions and value propositions.
  • Experience with Pricing and Revenue Optimization Technology, CPQ, CRM, ERP, eCommerce, Travel, and Logistics Technologies.
  • Knowledge of industry pricing practices, BI, analytics, database systems, cloud computing, and Microsoft Office Suite.
