About the opportunity

As a Dispenser working within one of our stores, you will be a key member of our pharmacy team, supporting the pharmacist and other healthcare professionals to ensure the safe and efficient delivery of pharmacy and healthcare services.

Working within the healthcare department, you will build great relationships with patients by listening and understanding their needs. Your responsibilities include greeting customers, dispensing prescriptions, ensuring the safe sale of medicines, and providing advice to support patients in making informed health decisions. You will make a difference every day.

This role is based in-store within the UK. Remote applicants will not be considered, and applications from outside the UK will only be progressed if relevant UK qualifications and right to work can be confirmed and evidenced.

Key responsibilities:

  1. Dispensing prescriptions safely, including ordering medicines, labelling, endorsing, and collecting prescriptions.
  2. Collaborating with healthcare professionals in your store to manage and deliver pharmacy services.
  3. Providing care and advice to patients about medicines and referring queries to the Pharmacist as appropriate.
  4. Following Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) to support safe and legal dispensing.
  5. Staying updated with new innovations and complying with operational processes.
  6. Supporting patients in managing their prescriptions and medicines effectively to promote adherence and reduce waste.

You will have opportunities to work with evolving technologies to improve patient safety and free up your time for patient interactions. Regular training will help develop your healthcare knowledge, and there are career development options, including training as a Pharmacy Technician or store leadership roles.

What you’ll need to have:

  • Completed the Pharmacy Advisor qualification NVQ2 (or equivalent) or currently working towards it, with the first year of an MPharm qualification completed.
  • Current and valid UK right to work. This role is not eligible for sponsorship for a Skilled Worker Visa.

It would be great if you also have:

  • Experience working in community pharmacy.

Our benefits

  • Discretionary Christmas Gift Payment
  • Generous staff discount
  • Enhanced maternity/paternity/adoption leave pay and gift card for expecting or adopting parents
  • Flexible benefits scheme
  • Access to free, 24/7 counselling and support through TELUS Health, our Employee Assistance Programme
