A leading literary scouting agency is seeking a Scouting Assistant in London. The role offers insights into multiple facets of the publishing industry and requires strong organizational skills and a passion for books. As international literary scouts, we look for the best in fiction and non-fiction to be published in English, as well as in other major languages, on behalf of our international publishing and film & TV clients
Eccles Fisher Associates is looking for an organised, hard-working and resourceful humanities graduate with a sound editorial sense and at least six months' publishing experience under their belt. This is an exciting opportunity for someone to gain an oversight of multiple aspects of the publishing industry, with insights into agenting, editorial, and the UK market, as well as foreign markets.
The ideal candidate will be ready to take their next steps in publishing, possibly following an internship or temporary role. They will be highly organised, have an almost obsessive attention to detail, be skilled at juggling multiple administrative tasks, have good communication and IT skills, and of course be passionate about books. Ideally, they would have a demonstrable interest in commercial fiction and YA.
This is a critical role in our close team, based in our central London office. Responsibilities include:
• Office administration
• Data entry on our specialised database
• Reading and reporting on books from a wide variety of genres, fiction and non-fiction
• Liaising with our publishing clients
• Some scouting responsibilities
The successful candidate would begin working with us full-time from 31 October. Please state your earliest date of availability.
