A leading literary scouting firm is seeking a full-time Scouting Assistant to support their team in London. This role offers a unique opportunity to engage with the publishing industry, enhancing your understanding of agenting and editorial processes while honing your organisational skills. Suitable candidates should be passionate about literature and possess strong attention to detail.
Eccles Fisher Associates is looking for a driven, organised, hard-working assistant to help support our team of scouts.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone to gain oversight of multiple aspects of the publishing industry, with insights into agenting, editorial, and the UK market as well as foreign markets.
The ideal candidate will, though not necessarily, already have some publishing work experience. They will be highly organised, have an almost obsessive attention to detail, be skilled at juggling multiple administrative tasks (including diary management and book fair scheduling), have good communication and IT skills, and of course, be passionate about books. Ideally, they would have a demonstrable interest in commercial women’s fiction and YA. A foreign language would also be an asset.
The successful candidate would begin working with us full-time from early January 2018. Please state your earliest date of availability.
As international literary scouts, we look for the best in fiction and non-fiction to be published in English, as well as in other major languages, on behalf of our international publishing clients and a film & TV company. We are a team of five scouts here in our central London office, with our sixth based between Istanbul and Milan.
