What you'll be doing...

To customize and enhance Verizon's Managed Security Services and Products, Verizon clients can add Support via a Client Security Architect/Engineer.

The Client Security Architect/Engineer is a key part of the managed security solution, partnering with our customer's technology leaders to create tailored security designs based on best practices. You will ensure that new designs support appropriate capacity levels and provide ongoing capacity management throughout the design lifecycle. All security designs are created to meet service level agreements, supporting business continuity, and where possible, consolidating infrastructure to reduce costs or prioritize high-importance applications. You will also provide 3rd/4th level operations support.

Responsibilities:

1. Assist clients in overcoming complex network and security challenges, advancing network and security engagements with new technology, features, and functionalities, including product and technology evaluations.
2. Minimize risks from poorly planned network changes.
3. Determine the hardware and software features needed for changes or enhancements.
4. Verify interoperability of new hardware and software with existing networks.
5. Provide technical advice on network cutovers and implementation plans, understanding their impact on the customer's business.
6. Act as the security and network liaison between the customer and Verizon for problem resolution related to critical network engineering, security engineering, and change management issues.
7. Define actionable, effective plans that reduce risk and utilize existing resources.

What we're looking for...

You'll need to have:

• Bachelor's degree or related work experience.
• Experience in network and security solution architecture and design.
• Experience working with external customer contacts.
• Experience with Palo Alto, Checkpoint, Cisco, or Fortinet security products.
• Experience with multiple vendor devices & technologies including EDR, SIEM, UTM, IDS/IPS, Firewalls, Proxies, and NAC.
• A background in Network Engineering.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS and Microsoft Azure.
• Strong communication, relationship-building, and presentation skills.
• Industry-recognized certifications (such as CCNA, CCNP, CCIE).
• Knowledge of SIEM solutions (Splunk, RSA, Securonix, etc.) and experience with Detection Content development.
• Experience in Incident Response and SOC operations.
• Knowledge of IDS/IPS tuning.
• Experience with third-party cloud solutions like Zscaler, iBoss, or Cylance.
• Experience with Vulnerability Management tools (Qualys, Nessus).
• Experience with Policy Assessment tools (Tufin, Algosec, Firemon, Skybox).
