  • Job Title: Kitchen Assistant
  • Location: Underley Garden School, Kirkby Lonsdale, LA6 2DZ
  • Salary: GBP10,400.00 per annum
  • Hours: 16 hours per week, over 2 days (9am - 5pm), days negotiable
  • Contract: Permanent

About the Role

  • Work within the school to ensure the safe and efficient running of the kitchen and dining facility alongside the Kitchen Team.
  • Assist the Kitchen Manager in maintaining high standards of service for all stakeholders.
  • Support in preparing high-quality school lunches, adhering to School Food Standards.
  • Ensure the kitchen and dining areas are safe and clean environments for students, staff, and visitors.
  • Assist in meeting standards set by the Environmental Health Agency.

Main Responsibilities

  • Prepare and support the production of food according to dietary requirements and support in cooking.
  • Support the wider kitchen team during serving times to ensure smooth operation.
  • Prepare the dining area for service, including setting up and cleaning.
  • Prepare the service area and equipment for efficient meal service.
