Job summary

Vets Now Manchester seeks a Small Animal Emergency and Critical Care Intern for a 12‑month programme. You will work primarily in the ICU, handling emergency referrals with a rolling rota and no on‑call duties.

The internship emphasises structured training, clinical cases, and professional development under expert ECC clinicians. Applicants should hold a veterinary degree recognised by the RCVS and be eligible for RCVS registration.

Qualifications

• A veterinary degree recognised by the RCVS.

Responsibilities

• Deliver emergency and critical care under close supervision.
• Manage ICU patients and emergency referrals across disciplines.
• Participate in case planning, diagnosis, treatment and record keeping.
• Engage in case discussions with clinicians, residents and nursing teams.
• Contribute to research projects, seminars and journal clubs.
• Uphold high standards of clinical care and animal welfare.
