The Opportunity

We are currently seeking an experienced ECC (NEC4 Engineering and Construction Contract) Project Manager to join us. This is an exciting opportunity to be involved in a wide variety of projects across various technical disciplines with clients across the country. Projects may include HVDC, interconnectors, wind farms, substations, OHL, geotechnical solutions, building design, protection systems, LVAC, FEED, new builds, refurbishment works, and connection schemes.

You will join a growing and collaborative team, working in partnership with a variety of clients to develop innovative and sustainable solutions to industry-wide efficiency and environmental challenges. We have ambitious growth plans, offering many development opportunities across our business. This role is crucial in supporting the UK energy transition.

As Part Of Your Role, You Will

  • Manage the full lifecycle of projects from feasibility to detailed design, construction, and closure.
  • Report on project status, including commercial and program aspects.
  • Manage internal teams, clients, and subcontractors.
  • Manage the contract and adhere to contract data.
  • Oversee time, quality, cost, and risk across the project lifecycle.
  • Raise change notices (compensation events and early warnings) promptly and see them through to completion.
  • Communicate and report to clients and subcontractors.
  • Promote high standards of health and safety.

About You

You will be a proactive individual with knowledge of the electricity transmission and distribution industry. You should be able to coach and collaborate within the wider energy team. Engagement in the engineering community and an understanding of industry best practices and innovative solutions are essential.

  • Hold an NEC4 ECC Project Manager accreditation.
  • Have previous project management experience in relevant areas.
  • Willingness to travel as required.

Knowledge of National Grid's Transmission procedures and experience with their Technical Specification, Guidance Notes, and Design Handbooks related to civil/structural engineering of UK T&D infrastructure are highly desirable. An understanding of Impressed Voltage causes and effects is preferable.
