The Opportunity

We are currently seeking an experienced ECC (NEC4 Engineering and Construction Contract) Project Manager to join us. This is an exciting opportunity to get involved in a wide variety of projects across various technical disciplines with clients across the country. These projects can include HVDC, interconnectors, wind farms, substations, OHL, geotechnical solutions, building design, protection systems, LVAC, FEED, new builds, refurbishment works, connections schemes, etc.

You will join a growing and collaborative team, working in partnership with a variety of clients to develop innovative and sustainable solutions to industry-wide efficiency and environmental challenges. We have ambitious growth plans and many development opportunities across our business. This is your chance to play an important role in the UK energy transition.

As Part Of Your Role, You Will

  • Manage the full lifecycle of projects from feasibility to detailed design, construction, and closure.
  • Report on project status, including commercial and programme updates.
  • Manage internal teams, clients, and subcontractors.
  • Manage contracts and adhere to contract data.
  • Oversee time, quality, cost, and risk across project lifecycle.
  • Raise change requests, compensation events, and early warnings promptly through to completion.
  • Communicate and report to clients and subcontractors.
  • Promote high standards of health and safety.

About You

You will be proactive, with knowledge of the electricity transmission and distribution industry. You should be capable of coaching and working within the wider energy team, engaged in the engineering community, and familiar with driving success for clients through innovative solutions and industry best practices.

  • Hold an NEC4 ECC Project Manager accreditation.
  • Have previous project management experience in relevant areas.
  • Willingness to travel as required.

Experience with National Grid's Transmission procedures, Technical Specification, Technical Guidance Notes, and Design Handbooks related to civil/structural engineering in UK T&D infrastructure is highly desirable. An understanding of Impressed Voltage causes and effects is preferable.
