Job description

Penmellyn Veterinary Group has two exciting positions available for small animal veterinary surgeons. One position is ideal for someone interested in emergency and critical care, while the other suits a general practitioner with diverse interests or a focus on small animal medicine.

Join our well-equipped sites

Our practice comprises six branches across mid Cornwall, with our main hospital in St Columb Major, near Newquay. We serve a thriving first opinion client base and accept referrals in orthopaedic, spinal, and soft tissue surgery, as well as diagnostic imaging and emergency care. The practice is modern, well-equipped, and forward-thinking, supported by a large team of veterinary surgeons and registered veterinary nurses, many with advanced qualifications. We are committed to high standards of veterinary care and client service, continually seeking improvements. Facilities include an on-site CT scanner.

Find your future with Penmellyn Vets

The ECC position is suited for a vet with at least two years of experience. It is envisioned as a hybrid role with both daytime and night shifts, with flexible balance. You will join our established ECC team, supported by dedicated day and night vets and RVNs. Candidates may hold or be working towards ECC qualifications or be considering a certificate. We support and fund further study. The role can be full or part-time with various rota options.

Be part of our supportive and friendly team

You will join a vibrant team with diverse clinical interests. This role offers opportunities to develop or broaden your skills. A full-time role involves a varied rota between first opinion and out-of-hours ECC work. Part-time options are available, with support for further certification if desired.

As part of IVC Evidensia, we offer extensive resources, clinical knowledge, and benefits, including 6.6 weeks of holiday, sick pay, pension, enhanced family leave, staff discounts, and relocation assistance.
