Penmellyn Veterinary Group has two exciting positions available for small animal veterinary surgeons. One position is ideal for someone primarily interested in emergency and critical care, while the other suits a true general practitioner with a range of interests or a bias towards small animal medicine.
Our practice comprises six branches across mid Cornwall, with our main hospital located in St Columb Major, near Newquay. We serve a thriving first opinion client base and accept referrals in orthopaedic, spinal, and soft tissue surgery, diagnostic imaging, and emergency and critical care. Our modern, well-equipped practice has a forward-thinking ethos, supported by a large team of veterinary surgeons and registered veterinary nurses, many of whom have advanced or are working towards further qualifications.
We are committed to providing the highest standards of veterinary care and client service, continually seeking improvement. Our facilities include advanced diagnostic equipment, such as an on-site CT scanner.
The Emergency and Critical Care (ECC) position requires at least two years of experience and is envisioned as a hybrid role involving daytime and night work, with flexible scheduling. You will join our established ECC team, supported by dedicated day and night hospital vets and a skilled team of RVNs. Candidates may already hold an ECC qualification or be considering one; we support and fund certificate study.
This role offers opportunities to expand or develop your skills across various areas. A full-time role involves a diverse rota between First Opinion and Out of Hours ECC work, with part-time options available. We support further qualification and professional development.
We are committed to Diversity, Equality, Inclusion, and Belonging. We welcome candidates from all backgrounds, including those with disabilities or long-term health conditions, and are happy to discuss reasonable adjustments during the recruitment process.
