Job Description:

Be a part of the future of energy generation by supporting our client to develop SMR projects across the UK from home or one of our offices, at times that work for you, whilst supporting our business and teams to grow and develop.

Who are we?

We are Pershing Consultants, a human-centric engineering project partner supporting critical infrastructure development across the UK.

We specialise in the project management of energy infrastructure projects and have partnered with a growing developer of Small Modular Reactor (SMR) technologies to support them to deliver ‘Ready to Build’ nuclear sites.

We have a wealth of experience in managing the entire project lifecycle, from initial conceptualisation, site selection, feasibility studies, to engineering design, procurement, construction, and commissioning.

Our team is well-versed in industry regulations and has a proven track record in delivering projects on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety.

The Role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead on nuclear site-related projects for SMR technology, and to help further develop a team of assistant and junior Project Managers. While nuclear energy-specific experience isn't essential, proven experience managing large and complex projects worth over £100m from concept through to FEED is required.

Flexibility: Your ability to do the job is more important than where or when you do it. This role can be based anywhere in the UK, and we are open to discussing flexible working arrangements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the day-to-day project management of SMR-related projects during development and consenting stages.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop less senior Project Managers.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams including environmental consultants, planners, land agents, legal advisors, and technical specialists.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, trackers, and risk registers.
  • Manage stakeholder relationships with clients, local authorities, statutory consultees, and landowners.
  • Support the preparation and submission of planning applications and EIAs.
  • Report regularly on project progress, budget, and risks to senior stakeholders.
Requirements
  • UK-based project management experience is essential.
  • Proven experience managing complex projects from conception to completion.
  • Experience within energy infrastructure and/or nuclear projects is a plus but not essential.
  • Understanding of UK planning system, EIA regulations, and land acquisition processes.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines across projects.

We offer a competitive salary and an enhanced benefits package including profit sharing.
