In London, our head office is based in The Shard, while our creative hub is in Here East, and 5 Carlos Place, a recently updated retail concept combining digital and physical elements, is based in Mayfair.

ROLE: Customers are at the heart of everything we do, and we see quality Digital communications as being critical to the success of the business. The Email Developer will concentrate on building new email designs, personalised email triggers and automating our current set-up. With a strong technical focus, they will work closely with the team and be a driving factor in improving technical aspects of our programme, including smarter automation and enhanced personalisation. We see this role as having a strong impact on testing and the future decisions on the direction of the team.

  • Experience with using at least one Email Service Provider. Ideally, but not necessary, to have knowledge of Sailthru
  • Competent in using at least one design tool such as Photoshop, Figma or Sketch
  • Communicating with a range of different stakeholders and understanding their needs
  • Experience working with emails across different marketing regions and languages
  • Experience working with different template layouts and finding ways to improve upon these through a test and learn approach
  • Familiar with testing emails across different email clients and an understanding of the different render issues which may be encountered and how to fix them
  • Must be a commercially-driven, customer-focused, reliable team player with a solid understanding of Customers, Marketing and Tech Product, as well as a strong appreciation of luxury standards.
  • Able to build emails from scratch using HTML and CSS

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

  • Build emails using CSS and HTML: rebuilding outdated code as well as working with our CRM & Loyalty team and design team to add new modules to our BAU design library where necessary
  • Learn to use our platform scripting language ‘zephyr’ (on the job training) and build out highly personalised targeted campaigns using this logic
  • Manage data feeds within our email platform and integrate these within our campaigns using this scripting language
  • Work closely with our CRM & Loyalty team to launch new projects e.g. new triggered campaigns
  • Co-ordinate with content teams and campaign stakeholders on content of non-BAU campaigns across multiple market languages
  • Work with CRM & Loyalty team to improve render of email templates and troubleshoot any issues found in testing
  • Work closely with the design team and CRM & Loyalty team to suggest how we can test different designs and layouts within our emails
  • Help continue to drive efficiency within the team by working with other stakeholders to improve overall process and asset management
