Pay Range
£32,500 to £42,500.
Working Hours/Pattern:
Full-time, although we would be happy to consider applicants who are looking to work on a part time basis. What is the role about?
The DQ&G role will be a part of the 'Business Intelligence Team' and more specifically the 'Data Insights Team'. In the Data Insights Team, we craft robust, actionable, data driven insights for senior leaders. Proactively delivering strategic projects which utilise Data Science, Machine Learning & AI.
Just some of your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Identify and improve inadequate quality standards, policies, and procedures
- Monitor and report on data quality metrics and KPIs
- Identify and resolve data quality issues
- Assist in the development and implementation of data governance frameworks.
- Maintain data governance documentation, including data dictionaries, data maturity assessment and glossaries
- Ensure compliance with data governance policies and procedures.
- Conduct regular audits to ensure adherence to data governance standards.
- Support data classification and access control initiatives.
Stakeholder Collaboration:- Work closely with IT, business systems, business intelligence and operations to promote data governance and quality best practices
- Provide training and support to stakeholders on data governance and quality initiatives
- Facilitate data governance meetings and workshops
- Work closely with Engineers, Analysts, and business users to ensure data is fit for purpose.
- Provide guidance on data definitions, lineage, and usage.
- Assist in the design of data models and ETL processes with governance in mind.
Continuous Improvement:- Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation in data quality and governance
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in data governance and quality management
- Implement new tools and technologies to enhance data quality and governance processes
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
- Knowledge of data governance frameworks and best practices.
Compliance & Security- Ensure data handling complies with internal policies and external regulations (e.g. UK GDPR).
- Support data classification and access control initiatives.
Monitoring & Reporting- Develop dashboards and reports to track data quality KPIs.
- Communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders.
Other- Conceptualise and suggest new projects for you to undertake
- Plan and implement these projects
- Create reports of your findings
- Liase with stakeholders to disseminate your findings
- Then asses the impacts of your projects
- Contribute & improve on other colleague's work
- Building on existing work form other analysts
- Assist all areas of the business with complex problems

To be successful in this role, we are looking for someone with:Essential Criteria- Experience in data quality, data governance, or data management roles.
- Experience maintaining data governance documentation, including data dictionaries, data maturity assessment and glossaries
- Knowledge of data governance frameworks, best practices and data privacy regulations (e.g. UK GDPR, DPA 2018, DAMA-SMBOK) and experience of ensuring compliance.
- Strong ability to monitor and report on data quality metrics and KPIs
- Familiarity with BI tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau), data profiling tools, and SQL.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Desirable Criteria- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Experience working closely with IT, business systems, business intelligence and operations to promote data governance and quality best practices
- Experience with data cataloguing tools (e.g. Collibra, Alation).
- Experience conducting regular audits to ensure adherence to data governance standards
- Experience in building, developing and working with the wider team to resolve data governance frameworks.
- Experience facilitating data governance meetings and workshops
