Senior Quantity Surveyor

Location: Beaconsfield, Buckinghamshire

Salary: Competitive

Are you an experienced Quantity Surveyor who excels at contract negotiation and value engineering?

Our client, a privately-owned, award-winning regional housebuilder, is looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their Thames Valley region and be part of a successful team developing bespoke, high-end properties in and around Buckinghamshire, Berkshire, and North London.

The Role

As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will:

  1. Place contracts for all relevant subcontractor work on their developments.
  2. Prepare subcontract enquiries, send out for pricing, and ensure that contracts are placed in line with the build programme.
  3. Produce a detailed trade-specific scope of works and qualification notes for all enquiry documentation.
  4. Analyse subcontractor quotes and form a recommendation on who to appoint.
  5. Ensure standard terms and conditions are agreed with all orders/contracts placed.
  6. Manage subcontractor payments.
  7. Process stage payments to subcontractors when due.
  8. Ensure all contra charges are managed.
  9. Carry out checks for UTR status of subcontractors.
  10. Review and process variations in accordance with terms and conditions.
  11. Work in partnership with other teams to ensure key dates for the build programme are achieved.
  12. Check drawings to ensure the proposals are practical and commercially viable.
  13. Regularly attend project meetings on site.
  14. Provide cost advice for the sales team.
  15. Produce regular reporting.
  16. Compile full cost reports for each development, to include services, materials, sub-contract, and prelim costs.
