What you will do:

  1. Carry a caseload under clear supervision and undertake a range of children and families and safeguarding assessments.
  2. Develop, prepare, and implement plans of work with children and their families based on meticulous assessments.
  3. Support children and families to maintain a safe environment within the family network.
  4. Commission services aimed at minimising risks and enhancing the quality of life for service users and their carers.
  5. Aid individuals, families, carers, and groups in representing their views in meetings affecting them.
  6. Engage effectively with partner agencies to improve services.
  7. Work towards family reunification when appropriate and manage care proceedings if necessary.
  8. Develop care plans for children looked after by the authority, ensuring they align with pertinent procedures.
  9. Prepare and present various reports, such as those for court, child care reviews, and planning meetings.
  10. Participate actively in training programmes for continued social work progression.

Professional responsibilities:
