Job Introduction

Landmarc Support Services is seeking a Training Area Operative to join our team. In this role, you will help maintain a safe, efficient, and sustainable environment for Armed Forces training.

We are looking for someone enthusiastic about outdoor work and dedicated to supporting the Military. We provide full training and ongoing development opportunities, making this a great start for a career on the Defence Training Estate.

Shifts: 07:00 - 23:30, Monday to Sunday

Hours: 37 per week

Contract: Permanent

Annual Allowance: £1,127.50 for weekend work

Location: Fingringhoe Ranges, Colchester, Essex, CO5 7LX

Interviews: Between Monday 2nd and Tuesday 3rd June

Main Responsibilities
  • Maintain the Defence Training Estate
  • Carry out preventative, planned, and reactive maintenance
  • Operate and maintain plant and equipment (training provided)
  • Manufacture and deploy targets
  • Drive and operate fleet vehicles
  • Use warning systems, including training control offices, flags, and lights
  • Ensure facilities meet safety protocols
  • Complete documentation via IT and paper systems
The Ideal Candidate
  • Knowledge of landscape maintenance
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Basic IT skills, comfortable with tablets
  • Ability to work effectively in a diverse, fast-paced team
  • Good understanding of Health & Safety protocols
  • Valid Manual UK driving licence
