Job Opportunity: Private Side Trader at Citi

Citi is looking to hire a Private Side Trader for the illiquid part of the business to join the Spread Products team in London. This role offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced credit trader to work on primary loan and private placements origination, execution, and distribution, while also being responsible for booking and risk management of transactions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with private side Sales, Banking, CMO, DCM on origination, execution, and distribution of transactions.
• Possess detailed experience in structuring loans, collateral packages, distribution formats (CLN, TRS, sub-participation, CDS, insurance, etc.), and hedging instruments (FX swaps, NDFs, interest rate swaps, etc.).
• Make direct trading decisions and work closely with Structuring for transaction identification, structuring, and pricing.
• Expand strategy from originate-to-distribute to include HFS/HFI books on the trading side.

Candidate Requirements:

• Current trading and structuring experience with exposure to primary loans/private placements; this is not an entry-level role.
• Experience in Emerging Markets (EM) is beneficial but not mandatory.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong understanding of Bloomberg, booking systems, trading protocols, and technicalities.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; Master’s degree preferred.
