About the School:

Kirklandpark School is situated in parklands in the market town of Strathaven. Strathaven is served by three primary schools: Kirklandpark, Wester Overton, and St Patricks; Strathaven Academy is the high school.

We have a large amenity ground adjacent to the school used for outdoor learning, sports, and games. We moved into our new school building in June 2016. The design is semi-open plan, and it is also open in the sense that parents and community members are welcome to visit at any time.

Kirklandpark School currently has eleven mainstream classes and a nursery. It is progressive and open-minded, embracing up-to-date educational thinking and practice, while maintaining a strong grounding in Scottish Education principles.

Our school motto, designed by pupil Cara McClean, embodies the ethos of Kirklandpark School – "Open Hearts, Open Minds, Open Doors." Our new school tie was designed by pupil Logan Pollock.

The Depute Head Teacher will:

1. Assist the Head Teacher in managing the school as part of the Management Team.
2. Deputise for the Head Teacher in their absence and lead colleagues in strategic direction and management.
