An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Genetic Counsellor to join a small, friendly, and supportive team in the East of Scotland Clinical Genetics Service based at Ninewells Hospital in Dundee.
The successful applicant will work as part of the team delivering comprehensive services, including outreach clinics. The role will mainly focus on cancer genetics, with opportunities to practice across a range of genetic conditions.
The post-holder will contribute to teaching programs and research projects within the department and support service development aligned with departmental goals.
For appointment at Band 7, applicants should be registered with the Academy of Healthcare Sciences (AHCS) or working towards registration. Consideration will be given to candidates at entry or trainee level under Annex 21 conditions, including those with an MSc in Genetic/Genomic Counselling or experienced nurses/midwives with current NMC registration and relevant degrees. Additional qualifications such as accredited counselling skills training and coursework in human genetics are advantageous.
You will be required to achieve the mandatory induction standards for Healthcare Support Workers in Scotland and to adhere to the Code of Conduct throughout employment.
