Job description

Role Overview:

We require an experienced Vehicle Scientist to join our Vehicle Performance Group to develop the performance of our current and future race cars.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Support Race Engineering with simulation and data analysis before, during and after race and test events
  2. Analyse track and R&D data and produce reports on findings
  3. Investigate potential mechanicals and controls upgrades through conceptual studies and simulation
  4. Correlate mathematical models (including simulator) and simulation results with track and R&D data
  5. Improve analysis and simulation tools

Qualifications, skills and experience required:

  1. Strong background in applied mathematics and physics (MSc/MEng)
  2. Able to derive basic models from first principles
  3. Competent at running vehicle model simulations and interpreting the results
  4. Able to demonstrate a sound understanding of race car mechanical and control systems
  5. Able to use MATLAB and Simulink independently
  6. Experience with additional programming languages (Python, C, C++, C# etc.) desirable
  7. Knowledge of MESL suite (ATLAS, vTAG, System Monitor)
  8. Motorsport experience (FE/F1/WEC in particular) highly desirable
