As a result, alongside several consortium partners, Balfour Beatty has been selected by BP (British Petroleum) to construct a first-of-a-kind fully integrated gas-fired power station with carbon capture and storage. This project is a key driver behind plans to make Teesside the UK’s first decarbonised industrial cluster.

Balfour Beatty is seeking a dynamic and experienced Site Agent to contribute to the Net Zero Teesside project at our new site in Redcar.

What you'll be doing
  • Safely manage all aspects of civil engineering works, with a focus on reinforced concrete construction.
  • Support the Project Manager in coordinating operations with other activities.
  • Supervise and mentor subordinates, ensuring high levels of engineering control and proper records, emphasizing defect avoidance and zero defects at completion.
  • Report progress and performance during regular construction team meetings.
  • Review technical information, identify and resolve ambiguities or shortcomings.
  • Support the team in developing construction methodologies, procedures, and programmes.
  • Delegate responsibilities to team members, ensuring their competence.
  • Identify problem areas, agree on corrective actions, and ensure their implementation.
  • Identify opportunities for team performance improvement and act accordingly.
  • Maintain complete and accurate records.
  • Develop programmes and forecast budgets, assess actual progress, and review weekly, reporting changes to the Project Manager.
  • Review and adhere to inspection and test plans, risk assessments, and method statements for work control.
